To install Windows Subsystem for Linux, issue the following command:
wsl --installThat should also activate, download and install all Windows features WSL depends on and needs to operate. You will have to reboot your PC afterwards.
When your PC is back up again, go to the Microsoft Store and install “Ubuntu 24.04 (LTS)”. I think I read that the store version has some features that are missing in the “commandline install version”.
At the end of the installation you will have to enter your username and a password. These credentials may very well be different from those you use for Windows itself.
