One day in the late summer of 2024, the YouTube algorithm once again harassed me with a video on the topic of "AI", but this time my interest was piqued. It was about running an open source Large Language Model locally on your own hardware and the opportunities that can arise from it. I watched the video and was instantly infected with the AI virus. It was as if I had caught a glimpse over the horizon into a new world of IT, and from that moment on, its fascination has drawn me into its spell.
In the coming weeks and months, I have devoted myself to this topic with increasing intensity and have delved deeper and deeper into the subject matter. Eventually, I realized that I was learning a lot of new stuff, and I wanted to document the gained insights so that I could access them at any time - especially because an almost infinite number of construction sites were opening up on the sidelines of my journey, and some of these tasks were constantly coming back to me.
After a short time, I noticed that more or less all of these "information bits" were already available on the internet, but they were often spread out a bit here and a bit there, so that the actual "profit" consisted of consolidating this information. I also thought that I was certainly not the only one who had embarked on this journey or intended to do so (or maybe hadn't even realized it yet...). For this reason, I was clear that I wanted to put these "tutorials" (or whatever you might want to call them) online to make them available to others as well.
I've been pondering what might be a suitable medium for this nowadays, and in the end, I've come up with a personal website (even though it is backed by a Github repo), because I have a little more influence on the design this way. And thus, one more construction site was opened!
I would be pleased if you as a visitor to this site can find and take something useful away with you!
